Update: Looking ahead to 2024, there’s plenty in store for Nike Basketball’s Kobe line as various Protro silhouettes gear up for a slew of releases throughout the year. One pair that has been looked at for months now is the Kobe 8 Protro “Radiant Emerald.” Complemented by a “Court Purple” flavor of a similar arrangement, the sneaker is set to launch on February 8 via Nike SNKRS at a price of $190 USD.
Original Story: Nike Basketball officially rebooted the Nike Kobe partnership this year on Kobe Day (August 24). The day before, on the late Kobe Bryant’s birthday, the Nike Kobe 8 Protro took on an all-white “Halo” colorway before four restocks went down on Kobe Day with classics such as the Nike Kobe 6 Protro “Grinch” making a return. Now, as we look ahead to 2024, a key release from Nike Basketball sees the Kobe 8 Protro in an all-new “Radiant Emerald” colorway.
With this unique design, white outfits a majority of the shoe’s base, including the lining and midsole, while its signature greenish-blue hue enlivens its presentation. “Radiant Emerald” hits the Nike Kobe branding at the tongue, the embroidered Swooshes, the signature detail at the heel and the semi-translucent outsole. In addition to this, the numbers “8” and “24” are repeated throughout the upper in the blue shade as a nod to both of the jersey numbers Bryant wore during his NBA career.
At the time of writing, the release details surrounding the Nike Kobe 8 Protro “Radiant Emerald” remain unconfirmed as it’s currently expected to launch via Nike SNKRS and select retailers at a new starting price of $190 USD on February 8.
