Thanks to its combination of a bespoke Bio-Dyneema upper, Vibram SLE midsole and an outsole that combines Vibram’s Megagrip and Litebase technologies, the norda 001 is a near-indestructible trail running shoe. And, as part of its yearly “Winter Toolkit” release for runners who’re ready to brave Mother Nature’s worst, norda has cooked up a new “Kingfisher” colorway of the even-further-upgraded 001 G+

The difference between a standard norda sneaker and a G+ iteration is that the G+ versions boast a temperature-regulating, waterproof membrane made of graphene. Extracted from graphite and made mainly of carbon, graphene is an incredibly thin — yet robust — material that, in a footwear application, ensures the wearer’s feet stay warm and dry without causing any “hot spots.” Looks-wise, the “Kingfisher” lives up to its nautical name with a rich navy blue upper contrasted by a white toe cap and mudguard, reflective silver heel, collar and tongue detailing, white midsoles, black outsoles and a black tongue with a grid pattern. Longtime norda fans may also notice the addition of a G+ logo hit on the tongue, a new, direct nod to the shoe’s technical prowess.

You can find the norda 001 G+ “Kingfisher” on the norda webstore now. It’s priced at $325 USD.
