After presenting its Spring/Summer 2024 range at the end of January, Italian outdoor specialist ROA is back with a new collaborative project, this time teaming up with Montréal-based mountaineering brand Ostrya. With both brands’ connection to the wilderness, the two were a natural fit to work together and approached the ROA Katharina, while also crafting the Caledonia Hiking Pant.
Looking first at the duo’s footwear contribution, the Katharina draws inspiration from the spring’s sun and vibrant landscapes with its yellow, olive and brown upper. The hybrid silhouette is constructed of a rough suede upper and features rubber mudguard elements that carry both ROA branding at the toe and Ostrya’s logo towards the heel. As for the all-black sole unit, it features a Vibram Megagrip toothed tread pattern that allows for use across rough surfaces. Complementing the sneaker is the Caledonia Hiking Pant, which notably pulls from classic two-tone mountaineering pants. A combination of a lightweight Japanese cotton canvas and Ripstop fabric results in a double layer build that carries olive and brown hues. Co-branding is scattered throughout as an articulated knee offers ample flexibility to round out the two-item project.
Both the Ostrya x ROA Katharina and Caledonia Hiking Pants are available now via ROA and Ostrya at prices of $530 USD and $275 USD respectively.
