The Nike Air Max Waffle Racer is one of the Swoosh’s most polarizing new silhouettes of the year. Teased during June’s SNKRS Showcase event, it prompted much discussion as it combines the Blue Ribbon Sports Waffle Racer’s upper and a portion of its sole unit with the Air Max Plus’ Tuned Air sole. It went on to launch last month and has continued to pop up from time to time since.
Looking ahead to 2025, a new “Matte Olive” colorway has been assembled by Nike to kick off the year. The pair begins with an olive nylon base and then sees a rough suede applied to several of the overlays while white enters the mix at the leather Swooshes and the tongue. From there, off-white adorns the unique sole unit — one that is rounded out by a gum outsole with the iconic waffle tread.
At the time of writing, Nike has not yet indicated when this “Matte Olive” iteration of the Air Max Waffle Racer will be dropping. Stay tuned for updates as we currently expect the sneaker to land on shelves in early 2025 via Nike SNKRS and select retailers at a starting price of $160 USD.
