District Vision and New Balance have joined forces to release their fourth collaboration. The latest unveiling introduces the Hierro V8 Trail Running Shoe in two failsafe colorways: “Bone” and “Black.”
The new shoes emphasize organic contours over geometric precision, boasting Y2K-coded appeal and a distinctly dynamic aesthetic. Through the use of translucent ReGrin, New Balance’s recycled compound made from car tires and running shoe soles, the material is layered with 3D rubberized prints for added durability and visual dimension.
A small red dot can be spotted next to the “N” logo, paying homage to the brand’s Japanese eyewear ventures. The shoe is complete with an oversized co-branded woven tongue label, while a half-tone print enriches the lower mesh layer.
The outsole of the shoe incorporates Vibram’s EcoStep Natural technology, utilizing colors derived from naturally occurring substances. The “Black” variant uses charcoal-based pigments (Carbo Ligni), while the “Bone” iteration features a blend of titanium dioxide and charcoal. This advanced material science ensures that the sole composition includes over 90% petroleum-free materials, demonstrating a significant focus on reducing environmental impact.
Both variants of the District Vision + New Balance Hierro v8 Trail Running Shoe are now available for pre-order via District Vision’s website. The collaboration will officially launch on both brands’ websites on December 3, 9 a.m. PST/ 12 p.m. EST, while a wider release through select retailers is set for December 10.
