Update: Marcus Jordan’s Trophy Room is back with another Jordan Brand project, this time taking on the Air Jordan 1 Low OG. After various previews popped up in recent months, Trophy Room has now officially revealed the “Rookie Card – Away” colorway. Drawing inspiration from Michael Jordan’s rookie season and sports-themed trading cards, a special take on the sneaker has been prepared with thematic packaging. As noted in our previous coverage below, Jordan’s signature is visible at the heel while the Swooshes are embroidered and the heel carries a metallic gold Wings logo. On top of this, an accompanying apparel range has been prepared with a short-sleeved button-up shirt and matching 4-button tear-away pants featuring co-branding from the duo. A mock neck tee in black and white color options has been prepared as well.
Release for the Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Rookie Card – Away” will take place via Trophy Room on March 14, allowing winners of a raffle being ran from March 11 to March 13 to purchase the kicks at a price of $140 USD. Its apparel is set to drop on March 14 as well, with prices ranging from $60 USD for the tees to $90 USD for the top and $150 USD for the pants. Following this, Nike SNKRS will launch the collaboration in North America on March 21. However, that’s not all as a “Rookie Card – Home” iteration will drop as a Trophy Room exclusive later this year.
Update: After a brief preview of Trophy Room’s take on the Air Jordan 1 Low OG popped up at the end of 2023, an on-foot breakdown of the pair has now arrived. Notably, the shoe’s red overlays appear in satin and join the white base and black detailing for a classic color combination. Release for the pair remains anticipated for February 15 at a price of $140 USD. For more info, be sure to review our initial coverage below.
Original Story: Back in 2016, Michael Jordan’s son Marcus opened up Trophy Room — home of some of Jordan Brand’s most exclusive releases. Over the years, the shop has received many collaborations across the Air Jordan series, with 2022’s Air Jordan 7 “New Sheriff in Town” as their most recent release.
Looking ahead to its next project, a rumor of Trophy Room preparing its own Air Jordan 1 Low OG collab circled earlier this year. Previously, the two produced a high-top version of the Air Jordan 1 in 2021, which the store received severe backlash for due to claims of backdooring inventory to resellers. Now, we have a first look at what to expect from their take on the low-top. The brief preview of the pair reveals its color arrangement of a white leather base, red at the mudguard and eyestays and black at the Swooshes, heel counter and heel tab while gold chimes in at the special Wings logo attached to the heel. Final touches from the duo involve Jordan’s signature at the lateral heel and the Trophy Room logo embossed at the lateral midfoot.
At the time of writing, neither Trophy Room nor Jordan Brand have confirmed any details surrounding the release of their collaborative take on the Air Jordan 1 Low OG. Stay tuned for updates as the much-anticipated project is currently expected to release via the Orlando-based retailer on February 15 of next year at a currently unknown price point.
