Salomon created the XT-4 to serve as a rugged trail runner that could handle even the most arduous mountain terrain — and when the onetime performance silhouette was reintroduced as a lifestyle model (first with an updated XT-6 midsole and then in original form with its full, chunky underfoot construction) that ethos was kept intact. Now, however, the XT-4 is back with a new pack of “Needlepoint” colorways that celebrate a pre-and-post hike/trail run staple: the chalet.
Produced in both white and black-based color schemes dubbed “Vanilla Ice” and “Black,” the “Needlepoint” pack is centered around a floral print that nods to traditional chalet decor. On the “Vanilla Ice” pair, this print adds a pop of colorful flair with raspberry-colored flowers accented by grey, while on the “Black” pair it’s kept to a monochromatic white and grey palette. “Vanilla Ice” repurposes the raspberry shade for extra detail on its midsole cage, while “Black” introduces a “Deep Lichen Green” tone into the mix on the same area. Finishing touches on both are provided by multi-colored tongue tags, and, of course, plenty of Salomon branding.
The Salomon XT-4 “Needlepoint” pack is available via the Salomon webstore and select stockists like UP THERE now. MSRP for each pair is set at $220 USD.
