A prevailing trend in footwear throughout the decade thus far is the favoring of slip-on styles. For Nike, it has found many different ways to utilize the design approach, whether it be adjusting existing models into slip-on versions with silhouettes such as the Air More Uptempo Slide, or by introducing entirely new models like the Calm Slide. The latter served as the Nike Calm series’ first release, with the Calm Mule and Calm Flip Flop appearing in the months since.
Now, the Swoosh has unveiled the latest addition to its Calm series — introducing the Calm Sandal. Presented initially in a summer-ready “Light Bone” colorway, the Calm Sandal features a foot cover at both the toe and midfoot, however, an adjustable strap is only present at the midfoot. Additional lockdown is provided via the heel, which sports tonal “NIKE” branding. Supporting the Calm Sandal is a familiar sole unit — one used for each of the previous Nike Calm releases.
At the time of writing, Nike has not disclosed any release details regarding the Calm Sandal, including this “Light Bone” colorway. Stay tuned for updates as it’s currently expected to release this summer via Nike and select retailers at a starting price of $80 USD.
