While Nike prepares to launch the Air Max TL 2.5 as part of its Holiday 2024 product line, sneaker leakers have been showcasing some of its in-line colorways that have yet to receive an official release announcement. The latest of those? A “Black/Metallic Silver” makeup that’s equal parts referee and roadman.
The lion’s share of the shoe is dressed in black, while “Metallic Silver” is used for bold accents on the swooping overlays, mesh upper and tongue. Tonal branding is applied both above the eyestays and on the midsole, the latter of which also serves up an Air Max 97-esque full-foot Air cushioning unit.
It’s been quite a rollout for the Air Max TL 2.5: first released as part of Nike’s long-running “Total Air” series in 2006, the style, which has been revived as a retrofuturistic lifestyle option, was first seen as part of the COMME des GARÇONS HOMME PLUS FW24 runway show back in January, then had another moment in the spotlight as part of June’s Nike SNKRS showcase.
An official date of arrival has yet to be revealed, but the Nike Air Max TL 2.5 “Black/Metallic Silver” will likely touch down before the year is out, or possibly as part of the Swoosh’s spring 2025 lifestyle lineup.
