Justin Boone is always up for an adventure. The fashion-focused content creator shares adventurous style and lifestyle content on his social pages while also balancing running a vintage apparel brand and a creative direction studio. You might see him posting about his styling work, experiences on the runway, linking up with other creatives and his fashionable family. Currently living in New York City, Boone has become accustomed to the infectious energy of the city which also inspires his work and lifestyle. For a comprehensive city guide, footwear brand SOREL tapped Boone to share his favorite spots spanning Brooklyn and Manhattan.
Showing off the dynamic wearability of the Caribou boot, Boone brought us along for a busy day, visiting some of his go-to spots in Brooklyn and Manhattan. After suiting up for the day in his new footwear, Boone headed to Brooklyn Blend, a Bed-Stuy staple that is ingrained in the neighborhood’s history. Founded by lifelong residents, the Black-owned cafe brings fresh juices, smoothies and comfort food to Brooklyn. “I really enjoy going to Brooklyn Blend and sitting in the corners of the cafe where the window is. My favorite thing to order is the falafel wrap alongside a ginger shot and a smoothie,” he shares.
Next, the creator took us along as he shopped at some of his favorite vintage spots, Colbo and Front General Store. As a vintage clothing aficionado, Boone is often looking for unique pieces that can endure the test of time. Both Colbo and Front General Store offer curated, one-of-a-kind finds that stand out to Boone.
“The curation at Colbo is extremely tasteful. The merchandising, the product, the aesthetic…it all co-exists in a way that creates such a special environment,” he continues, “And Front General Store stands out to me because they don’t only offer clothes but they also carry genuine .925 silver bags and even some contemporary designer clothing and trinkets that fit within the world that they have built.”
After sifting through vintage grails, Boone worked up an appetite, so he headed to his favorite cafe in Soho, Cafe Gitane. “I enjoy visiting restaurants that have an organic and original feel to true New York culture. It is also great for people watching,” Boone adds.
Wearing the Caribou boot, Boone can take on his spontaneous routine, which he describes as, “Something different every day.”
The Caribou design is one of SOREL’s staple offerings, ideal for day-to-day wear, but especially suitable for cold weather conditions. The model features seam-sealed waterproof construction, suede accents, and ballistic nylon uppers. Insulation keeps the wearer comfortable and warm, and a special lug design ensures non-slip traction. Made with the toughest conditions in mind, the Caribou is a key footwear option for those who dare to explore, just like New Yorker, Justin Boone.
