New Balance is preparing to launch a new model, the 1906F, as an addition to its popular 1906 line in 2026. Taking inspiration from the classic 1906R, the 1906F is set apart with a refreshing modern update to its upper design.
The 1906F adopts a sleek, synthetic base, similar to the 1906R “No-Sew” series. Its defining characteristic is the extensive network of TPU accents on the upper, which replace traditional suede or leather overlays. These accents, reminiscent of tire marks or reptile scales, add a contemporary, textured look. At the same time, the 1906F retains the signature comfort of the 1906 line, featuring the ABZORB SBS cushioning unit in the heel and the responsive ACTEVA Lite midsole. Functionality is also enhanced with utilitarian additions, including pull laces and a heel pull tab for ease of wear, alongside the N-Lock webbing system for a secure and supportive fit.
The initial release of the 1906F will include two colorways: “Black/Grey” and “White/Silver,” which feature metallic gray and silver accents, respectively. These are slated for a Spring 2026 launch, though an exact release date is still pending confirmation. Check out the official images above.
