Kyrie Irving and the Dallas Mavericks are gearing up to take the court for game one against Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Oklahoma City Thunder tonight. Though the NBA Playoffs aren’t the only place Irving is making noise — his debut signature shoe with ANTA, the ANTA KAI 1, continues to arrive in new colorways each month. The latest look to appear carries a “Mother’s Day” theme that celebrates mothers everywhere.
For Irving’s new design, he looked to his own mother, Elizabeth Irving, channeling her wisdom and protective spirit. Feathers that are symbolic of Wisdom and Protection are included alongside a color arrangement that nods to Irving’s heritage and connection to the Standing Rock Sioux tribe. Additional features range from the midfoot’s strap sporting “Mother” text at the exterior and an “In celebration of” note at the interior to a “Mother” callout at the heel tab as well.
Release for Kyrie Irving’s ANTA KAI 1 “Mother’s Day” is scheduled to take place on May 11 at a price of $125 USD. It will be available exclusively via New Jersey-based retailer Sneaker Room in men’s sizes US8 through US13.
