Kids of Immigrants has quickly grown as a multi-faceted brand that brings stories to life via special projects. Having teamed up with Vans in the past, the Los Angeles-based label has continued working on footwear by now teaming up with Nike to present the Air Max Sunder in two vaporwave-esque colorways.

First discussed during an appearance in the last SNKRS Showcase during Paris Fashion Week, the Kids of Immigrants x Nike Air Max Sunder takes the popular silhouette and equips it with a revamped upper that sees gridlines spread across it. The toe portion of the mudguard has been maintained, albeit without the typical geometry present, as well as the model’s signature zipper that hides the lacing system. “Persian Violet” sees bright purple at the collar turn to a darker hue as it approaches the midsole while the “Sundial” colorway mimics this approach but in orange. Both pairs feature a brown mudguard and black at both the heel and the sole unit, which notably features a blue finish with black specks at the midfoot. Final touches to both pairs include “KIDS OF IMMIGRANTS” text across the left and right shoes’ outsoles, a “JUST DO IT. TOGETHER.” callout at the co-branded sockliners and a special box with branding from the duo.

At the time of writing, neither Kids of Immigrants nor Nike have confirmed release specifics surrounding their forthcoming collaboration involving the Air Max Sunder in these two colorways. Stay tuned for updates as we currently expect both the “Persian Violet” and “Sundial” looks to be made available on November 21 via Nike SNKRS and select retailers at a starting price of $190 USD.
