Gramicci and KEEN have a lot in common. Though the former is now based in Japan and the latter is headquartered in Portland, both were born in California and each is geared toward rugged outdoor functionality — but not at the expense of practicality or wearability. Now, the two are celebrating their shared roots and love of the outdoors with a new take on the Jasper Zionic, a retrofuturistic KEEN sneaker that’s inspired by outdoor goods from the early ’00s and serves as a more aggressively-styled alternative to KEEN’s popular Jasper sneaker.
Arriving in “Gothic Olive/Black” and “Sorrel Horse/Black” colorways, the Gramicci x KEEN Jasper Zionic boasts an ultra-hairy suede upper accented by Gramicci’s signature zig-zag stitched pattern. Other stylistic details include a custom logo hit on the tongue, patterned insole details and another zig-zagged nod to Grammicci on the heel tab. From a technical standpoint, the sneakers feature a high-traction rubber outsole with 4mm lugs for all-terrain grip and hidden stability shank, plus a special insole foam that provides extra arch support.
The Gramicci x KEEN Jasper Zionic is available now via both brands’ webstores (links to which are included above) and network of stockists. Each pair is priced at $170 USD.
