Jordan Brand has proven time and again that just because a silhouette is decades old, it doesn’t mean that there’s not ways to bring new life to it. Over the years, the Jumpman team has leveraged iconic elements of its Air Jordan series to craft unique hybrid sneakers such as the Spizike. While diehard fans are not always satisfied with the resulting designs, there’s no denying that these creations offer something unique. For 2024, the Air Jordan 2/3 is the latest combination to surface, with its black and white colorway appearing earlier this year.
Now, a second pair has hit the net, rocking a “Varsity Red” that the Air Jordan 2 is all-too-familiar with thanks to special releases including Off-White™’s Air Jordan 2 Low. Its new arrangement sees a white leather upper accented by red detailing at the lining, tongue branding, heel and rear portion of the midsole. Elsewhere, an off-white hue dresses the remainder of the midsole while a plain gray occupies the rubber outsole.
At the time of writing, Jordan Brand has not confirmed when this “Varsity Red” iteration of the all-new Air Jordan 2/3 hybrid sneaker will be releasing. However, it’s currently expected to hit shelves this summer as part of the silhouette’s initial rollout via Nike SNKRS and select retailers at a price of $160 USD.
