Engineered Garments and Reebok unveil their latest collaboration, the BB4000 II sneaker collection, inspired by 1980s university style and hip-hop. This reimagined retro court shoe features two striking colorways, metallic gold and silver. The BB4000 II also features an embossed logo on the quarter panel that adds a signature touch reflecting the collaboration’s exclusive nature. Below the upper, the sneakers boast a chalk-colored midsole that contrasts with the metallic tones, sitting atop a classic gum rubber outsole that ensures durable traction.
Daiki Suzuki, founder of Engineered Garments, has focused the design on the distinctiveness of 1980s fashion sneakers, which often featured bold metallic finishes and standout color contrasts. Suzuki explains, “The idea of searching for silver and gold accents in the style of the 1980s led me to explore old-school basketball shoes. Reebok’s BB4000 II closely matched my envisioned image, prompting this unique blend.
Priced at $120 USD, the Engineered Garments x Reebok BB4000 II collection will first be available exclusively from Engineered Garments’ website on April 26, before a broader global release scheduled for May 3 via Reebok’s website and select retailers.
