Doublet and ASICS are set to unveil the GEL-QUANTUM 360 I AMP “Tyrannosaurus Rex,” a new sneaker variant that sartorially transforms the high-tech runner into a prehistoric predator.
Inspired by the silhouette’s naturally aggressive lines, the silhouette is brought to life through a multi-layered upper featuring a realistic T-Rex face graphic rendered in scaly shades of brown, tan and black. To enhance its ferocious aesthetic, additional padding has been strategically inserted to create textured nostrils and eyes that appear to look up from the wearer’s feet. Functional branding includes a lowercase “a” logo nestled between the nostrils on the toebox, and a suede patch on the lateral heel for a premium finish.
The technical complexity of the shoe extends to its foundation, where the design utilizes the midsole’s natural shape to represent a dinosaur’s mouth. The teeth-like outsole is finished in sharp white to mimic prehistoric “chompers,” while a striking red layer sits just above to represent the gums—or perhaps the creature’s last meal. Despite its novel appearance, the sneaker retains the elite performance of the GEL-QUANTUM 360 VIII AMP, featuring full-length cushioning and advanced shock absorption. To complete the experience, the pair arrives in a completely custom shoebox designed to look like a T-Rex with a sharp-toothed snarl.
