Converse has taken to Instagram to reveal Shai Gilgeous-Alexander‘s new signature logo for the brand. The design was revealed after the Oklahoma City Thunder guard was named the creative director of Converse Basketball.

The design was crafted under Gilgeous-Alexander’s creative direction as he steps into the role to make a mark with the brand. The logo marks the new era and the first act of his tenure with Converse. The logo was originally hand-drawn by the athlete himself. The it stylized as two mirrored No. 2s — a nod to his uniform number and a reflection of his duties on and off the court. Blending the world of basketball and fashion, the logo represents a balance between the sport and creative freedom coming together in harmony.

Hoping to push the limits and deliver creative and innovative products through Converse’s storytelling, Gilgeous-Alexander and the brand debuted the logo via a 3D out-of-home installation in Toronto when the Thunders play the Toronto Raptors on December 5. Take a look at the logo above and below and get ready for what is to come.
