Edison Chen and the CLOT team are back with another adidas collection, right in time for the Lunar New Year. The duo’s classic fusion of Chinese and Western culture is back, with the Year of the Horse taking center stage this time. This symbol of vitality and strength is the primary note of inspiration for two sneakers and a thematic apparel range that references kung fu and the zodiac.
The CLOT x adidas Superstar Dress shoe returns with a cowhide horse print at each side of the upper. A leather construction is used for the lining, midsole, tassels, and shell toe. Meanwhile, cotton laces with golden aglets and stitched Three Stripes branding tie the look together. New to the partnership is a model created by the duo, the Qi Flow. Inspired by kung fu, it sees a nylon upper host a satin collar, as well as pearl and frog-button closures. Backing the sleek model is an espadrille-based sole unit, one the duo has integrated into sneakers several times previously.
On the apparel side, martial arts aesthetics meets Western tailoring. The CLOT Track Jacket is comprised of 100% cotton twill, with a Mandarin collar, frog buttons, deco accents, and a rope-detailed applied Three Stripes visible. It combines with the Beckenbauer Track Pant, which features a custom LNY woven label and herringbone elastic stirrups. Rounding out the range is the CLOT Jacket, constructed of a quilted crinkle nylon exterior and insulated by PrimaLoft Gold Synthetic Fill Down.
Look out for the entire collection to drop on January 31 via adidas and select retailers such as JUICE.
