This month marks one year since Junya Watanabe MAN and New Balance surprised the world with the unveiling of their collaborative 1906 sneaker loafer. What was thought to be a one-off design for their latest project together ended up being the 1906L, a new mainline silhouette for the American sportswear brand. It finally landed on shelves at the beginning of Fall/Winter 2024 and continues to see new colorways enter the mix.
The latest look to adorn the New Balance 1906L is a “Black/Silver” combination that begins with its mesh base outfitted in black. From there, its “Silver Metallic” hue shines bright across the branding elements and synthetic overlays, including the traditional 1906 heel cage. Its ABZORB-backed sole unit also combines black and gray throughout, completing this new take on the sneaker loafer.
At the time of writing, New Balance has not officially stated when this “Black/Silver” iteration of the 1906L will be dropping. Stay tuned for updates, including the reveal of additional colorways, as this pair is likely to land on shelves during the first half of 2025 via New Balance and select retailers at a starting price of $160 USD.
