Jordan Brand‘s frequent tinkering with OG colorways of the Air Jordan 1 — the Air Jordan 1 “Black Toe Reimagined” and Air Jordan 1 “Royal Reimagined,” to give two recent examples — is set to continue into 2025 with the reported release of an Air Jordan 1 High OG Patent “Black/White.” Though no official images of the purportedly forthcoming style have been revealed yet (the above photo is a mock-up created by Sneaker Files and zsneakerheadz, who first reported the news), it’ll likely hew closely to its title by taking the OG Air Jordan 1 “Black/White,” retaining its original colorblocking and dousing it in high-gloss patent leather.
The “Black/White” isn’t the first Air Jordan 1 colorway to get a patent leather makeover, as the OG Air Jordan 1 “Bred” received a similar patent treatment in December 2021. Though most younger sneaker fans will see a black/white color scheme of this nature and immediately equate it to the omnipotent Nike Dunk Low “Panda,” the exact colorblocking scheme used on this model dates back to the AJ 1’s original release year of 1985. An Air Jordan 1 Hi 85 “Black/White,” a true-to-the-original re-creation of the OG model, was also released back in 2022.
There’s currently no official confirmation that this model is releasing, and a rumored release date has not been floated either, but Sneaker Files and zsneakerheadz indicate that it’ll be touching down sometime in the spring of 2025. If it does release, it should be available in a full-family size run, with adult pairs priced at $180 USD, grade school pairs at $140 USD, preschool pairs at $85 USD and toddler pairs at $70 USD.
