BSTN and FAT International have revealed their latest collaboration, the Air Jordan XI “Legend Blue.” In a campaign as icy as the shoe’s translucent outsole, the two brands have teamed up to create a bespoke Porsche 911 Dakar that mirrors the sneaker’s iconic design, while also spotlighting FC Bayern München star Leroy Sané as the campaign’s headliner.
Notably, BSTN takes the Air Jordan XI far beyond the basketball court. Partnering with FAT International — a trend-setting motorsports brand helmed by Ferdi Porsche — the campaign celebrates the sneaker’s icy-blue details and checkerboard carbon fiber pattern through a custom-tailored paint job on the Dakar. The car’s design pays homage to Tinker Hatfield’s legendary 1996 creation, which debuted at the NBA All-Star Game and remains a cultural touchstone.
“I am very hyped about this project. I’ve always been a big sneakerhead, so being a part of this campaign between a brand that brought out some of my favorite kicks and my local store growing up in Munich is a full-circle moment,” shared Porsche in a comment to Hypebeast, adding “MJ is known for his love for racing and cool cars also — so I think FAT Jumpman is a thing!”
Adding a new twist, the collaboration will see the Porsche 911 Dakar enter the 2025 Ice Race in Zell am See, Austria. Set against the frosty backdrop of February’s winter wonderland, the race marks a stark contrast to the Air Jordan XI’s original Texas sunlit debut. For those interested in picking a pair up, the Legend Blue XIs are set to drop on December 14 at BSTN stores in Munich, Hamburg and London, as well as on the store’s official site.
