Montreal-based label JJJJound has been working closely with New Balance for years and is responsible for many of the brand’s most sought-after looks each season. The duo recently teased two MADE in USA versions of the 993 and is back with another preview of what’s to come, revisiting the 2002R with GORE-TEX.

JJJJound and New Balance dropped two 2002R GORE-TEX colorways back in February and have a third pair on the way, this time for Fall/Winter 2024. Our initial preview of the upcoming release sees it don an all-black look across its mesh and leather build, save for the hint of blue around the heel that hosts 2002R branding just below a GORE-TEX tag. A toggle lacing system has been applied to the sneaker with a subtle “JJJJound” hit included.

At the time of writing, neither JJJJound nor New Balance have confirmed when this all-black GORE-TEX take on the 2002R will be dropping. Stay tuned for updates soon as the Canadian label did note that it is part of its FW24 collection so look out for it to drop in the months to come via JJJJound around the $190 USD price point of its predecessors.
