ASICS has championed the technical runner space for several years now, finding success with its archive of ’00s and ’10s designs that have fit snugly into the trends of today. Models like the GEL-KAYANO 14, GT-2160 and the recently introduced GEL-NYC 2055 continue to dominate on the global stage, however, one emerging movement to keep an eye on is with the GEL-KAHANA TR V4. The sneaker debuted in China earlier this year as a new outdoor-oriented silhouette with AHAR wear-resistant rubber and GEL shock-absorbing rubber technology.

Now, with several China-exclusive releases under its belt, ASICS has joined forces with Chinese streetwear label TroubleSmile to outfit the sneaker. Teased via a batch of videos, including a side-scrolling beat ’em up-styled cut that is embedded below, the sneaker dons slick silver overlays while sporting flames at its base, combining yellow and orange coloring with hints of red as well. TroubleSmile’s black-on-yellow branding hit arrives at a lateral stitched tag while the shoe notably sees its signature cord lacing system presented in red.

At the time of writing, neither TroubleSmile nor ASICS have confirmed when their take on the GEL-KAHANA TR V4 will be landing on shelves. Stay tuned for updates, including official imagery of the kicks, as we expect it to drop in the coming weeks, likely as an exclusive to China or Asia via ASICS and select retailers.
