Nike has an affinity for gold right now. Given the forthcoming 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, it all makes sense. The sportswear giant recently revealed its warm-hued Air Max DN in “Golden Bullet,” which calls upon the popularity of the Air Max 97 “Golden Bullet.” Well, now Nike is extending its love for gold by tossing its Air Max Sunder in “Metallic Gold.”
The new colorway sees a black base that graces the neoprene/tech-fabric upper, zipper, interior mesh, tongue and heel pull tabs, toe cap, rubber midsole and rubber outsole. Where the metallic gold comes into play is with the shoe’s overlay that wraps around the entire model, shoe piping, a midsole detail and the signature Nike Swoosh. The perforated side decals with circular pieces also comes in both black and metallic gold.
Just this past June, Nike dropped official images of the Air Max Sunder “Canyon Gold” which features a standout sunset-hued upper. The shoe is still available now in case you missed it. With the gambit of Air Max Sunder models coming to the surface, it’s clear that the retro silhouette’s reintroduction is back in full force.
Going for gold, the Air Max Sunder “Metallic Gold” is expected to be released during the Holiday 2024 season for $180 USD.
