Daisuke Obana, founder and creative director of Japanese label, N.HOOLYWOOD, has always shown an affinity for American fashion. Each of his collections subtly and sometimes strikingly reimagine timeless military, prep and sportswear silhouettes to fit modern sartorial sensibilities, while employing excellent Japanese materials and tailoring.
Following the latest installment in its partnership with Champion, N.HOOLYWOOD worked with Converse to recreate the Chuck Taylor low. Released under the label’s N.HOOLYWOOD COMPILE imprint, a sub-line created to bridge the gap between formalwear for a modern audience, the shoe features a grey suede upper, complemented by a canvas tongue to create a timeless look that can be enjoyed with formal wear or casual clothing.
Additional details include leather accents by the lace eyelets, branding details on the base and heel, as well as a sturdy Vibram sole unit. The N.HOOLYWOOD COMPILE x CONVERSE ADDICT Chuck Taylor Low will hit all MISTER HOLLYWOOD storefronts in Japan, as well as its online store on May 10.
