Over the past decade, football and streetwear have merged sartorially to the point where the two industries are almost inseparable — from the endless collaborations between clubs and fashion labels to the players becoming their own brands. Complementing its ongoing 25th anniversary celebration of the Air Max Plus, Nike has fused the popular ’90s lifestyle sneaker with the fabled Tiempo silhouette, once donned by players like Francesco Totti and Ronaldinho.
The aptly titled Nike Air Max Plus Tiempo presents a best of both worlds approach by including the most striking features from each shoe: namely a supple black leather upper that is complemented by a football-inspired tongue flap, atop a plush air sole unit. Additional highlights include a subtle stitching pattern that waves throughout the upper, a “Tn” badge on the heel, as well as a striking white Swoosh to complete the look.
Arriving off the heels of a slew of Air Max crossovers, including the Mercurial x Air Max, the forthcoming Nike Air Max Plus Tiempo does not have a release date or price yet. For those looking to purchase, however, expect the shoe to drop later this year.
