Rihanna’s FENTY x PUMA Avanti is gearing up for a wild return with an all-new “Pony” models. Building on the silhouette’s ever-expanding roster of inventive colorways and textures, Rih’s design label and the German sportswear brand have now redone the sneaker in two new fur-coated finishes.

This time around, the football-inspired she has been wrapped in fine calf hair, in both all-white and dappled brown colorways. The design retains its signature rounded shape, with embroidered FENTY branding on the tongue and retro gum soles.

PUMA first revealed the Avanti silhouette in 2001, describing the sneaker as an evolution of its breakthrough Jil Sander King athletic shoe. Now, Fenty’s iteration, which was previously made available in matte black, reflective silver, potent emerald and rich navy blue tones, pays homage to the greats that made PUMA’s football silhouettes iconic in the 1980s, like Eusebio, Pelé and Maradona.

“I wanted to bring something iconic from the archives to the street, and the late great Pelé made the Avanti shoe so iconic,” Rihanna said in a statement, when the shoe was officially unveiled.

Both FENTY x PUMA Avanti “Pony” models are scheduled to launch on PUMA’s webstore, as well as at select retailers, on February 22. The shoes will be available in both men’s and women’s sizes for the price of $200 USD. Take a closer look at the design in the gallery above.
