Salehe Bembury has revealed his latest creation for Crocs: a new mule silhouette dubbed the Saru. The fourth completely original silhouette that Bembury has designed for Crocs after 2021’s Pollex Clog (one of the most singular styles of the decade thus far), 2023’s Pollex Slide and the forthcoming Pollex Juniper sneaker, the Saru takes the designer’s signature fingerprint pattern and moves it to the midsole and outsole, leaving the top largely unchanged from the Crocs Classic Clog to provide a hybrid look.
Two different colors of the design have been revealed so far, the first of which, a burnt orange, is pictured above. Yesterday, Bembury posted both a far-away look and a detailed shot of a tan colorway on his Instagram Stories. The first of these images, both of which can be seen below, was accompanied by a “Campaign Day” caption, indicating that it’s likely to be premiered and officially released in the next few weeks.
It’s yet to be revealed if the Salehe Bembury x Crocs Saru will be released alongside the Salehe Bembury x Crocs Juniper or is part of a separate initiative. The efforts with Crocs are just some of the forthcoming projects from the perpetually active designer as well, as he’s recently been hinting at a partnership with Louis Vuitton.
Stay tuned for more info as it’s made available.
