Reebok and Pat Towersey’s Western Hydrodynamic Research (WHR) have teamed up for their debut collaboration. For the joint endeavor, the brands have updated Reebok’s Club C 85 and Beatnik silhouettes with a beach utility-inspired aesthetic.
By centering two signature shoes from the Boston-based sportswear brand, the collaboration centers on staple, yet functional designs while also elevating them with beach utility notes – a core brand aspect of Western Hydrodynamic Research. For the collaboration, the shoes have been updated with recycled fabrics and suede for enhanced durability alongside environmental connection. Complimenting the shoe’s suede accents are gum outsoles, an embroidered WHR logo on the Beatnik strap and a WHR patch on the Club C 85 footbed.
“We are honored to be on Reebok’s roster of collaborators,” said WHR Founder, Pat Towersey. “We have been so excited to put our spin on the Club C 85, an iconic shoe that has been part of popular culture since the ‘80s, and of course the Beatnik, which is the perfect slide.”
Take a look at the collaboration in the gallery above. Priced at $120 USD and $130 USD, the Reebok x Western Hydrodynamic Research collaboration will be available online at WHR on February 9 for the Beatnik and February 16 for the Club C 85.
