Nike continues its rich history of global partnerships by teaming up with premier South Korean retailer WORKSOUT for a fresh take on the Air Max 95. Founded in 2003 by five friends, WORKSOUT has grown into a major hub for high-demand streetwear. For this special release, the founders drew nostalgic inspiration from the school uniforms of their youth, creating a minimal, modern, and tech-leaning design that successfully bridges the gap between old and new for the next generation of sneaker enthusiasts. Following its initial rollout, the highly coveted pair is making a return via a special lottery.
Dubbed the “Uniform” (or “Medium Olive and Sequoia”), the collaborative silhouette swaps out the Air Max 95’s traditional layered construction for a sleek, single-molded synthetic upper. A sheen texture runs throughout the shoe, highlighted by reflective design paneling that accentuates the model’s signature anatomical build. The deep Medium Olive and Sequoia hues are perfectly contrasted by a smoldering black polyurethane midsole, which houses the original Air Max 95 “Big Bubble” Air unit for supreme cushioning.
Elevating the design further, the sneaker incorporates several unique details that pay homage to the South Korean retailer. Bold, textured Swoosh logos give a subtle nod to the WORKSOUT storefront, while a custom-molded heel design specifically represents the store’s interior aesthetic. Complete with a revised lacing system and a breathable mesh tongue bearing an embroidered WORKSOUT patch, the shoe serves as a true full-circle moment for a brand that began by selling Air Maxes in the early 2000s.
The WORKSOUT x Nike Air Max 95 stands as a testament to the enduring cultural impact of the classic runner across the globe. For those who missed out previously, the “Medium Olive and Sequoia” colorway is getting a special re-release at the WORKSOUT Aoyama store. An online web lottery for entry is currently open from April 16 to April 17, ahead of the official April 18 drop.
