Where to Buy: 18 East “Summer Studio” Pop-Up

Though its roots are firmly planted at its Chinatown studio in New York City, 18 East is enjoying the West Coast life this summer with a “Summer Studio” pop-up in Venice, California that’s open until August — and as part of the temporary store’s slate of special drops and experiences, 18 East has collaborated with Los Angeles-based Goods & Services for a bespoke mule. A new colorway of an original Goods & Services design that debuted in April, the made-in-LA mule boasts a suede upper lined with lambskin leather and equipped with a removable shroud, a vegetable-tanned leather strap with an aluminum buckle, and a tumbled natural leather footbed that boasts co-branded 18 East and Goods & Services detailing.

This assemblage sits atop Vibram‘s Sphike midsole and outsole, an apparatus initially designed for trail running that’s lightweight and supportive but boasts a durable all-weather traction pattern as well. Another interesting design element is that, like any of Goods & Services’ other creations, it’s fully reparable, resolable and customizable via any of the cobbling options on the Goods & Services webstore. The collaboration marks the second footwear effort between Goods & Services and 18 East as well: in 2023, they teamed up for a co-branded take on Goods & Services’ first original mule design, complete with a forest green strap.

The 18 East x Goods & Services mule is available via the 18 East “Summer Studio” pop-up now and retails for $280 USD. If you’re not able to make it to the pop-up to purchase a pair in person, you can also email customerservice@18east.co to place an online order.
